Sequential Art Sector Overview

For the Sequential Art Sector Overview element of my Industry Today Module I decided to focus on the unique and varied genres that appear in Japanese Manga, and how that effects the comics industry as a whole.

In my visual essay I will focus specifically on how the multitude of genres makes manga more accessible for a massive audience of people due to having different series that cover almost every topic and niche. At first I'll talk about the general variety that there is before going on to look at more unusual topics that are touched upon as well as which genres sell the best amongst Eastern and Western fans. Comparing to the Western comics industry will also be a topic that is covered due the variety of genres in manga being vastly superior to Western comic books but with western comics companies being more explorative with their choices of genres in more recent years.
